Changing Terminology.

M-POS Point of sale has been setup to be of use to the majority of people and the wording in the program reflects a rather generic viewpoint. An example if this is the names for the modifiers when you are setting up a new product. I cannot think of any situations were Modifier 16 would be meaningful when setting up a product, you may wish it to say something different like Style. The terminology section allows you to change most of the displayed words within the program to something more meaningful to the person using it. I will present to you an example of how to change various words in the program by working through the process of changing “Modifier 16” to “Style”.

In the image below you can see that the modifier screen shows that the last modifier is called

“Modifier 16”

To start the process of changing this select Manager from the Main Control screen, then Settings and finally Terminology. The following screen will be displayed.

As you can see the screen contains the currency values on the left hand side, the currency is determined by the Regional settings within Windows so if they appear wrong here your Windows settings are wrong.

On the right side of the screen are all the of changeable words in the program, if you scroll down and locate the line that shows “Modifier 16” and click on it you will see that the highlighting bar shows that you have selected the line and in the field below the terminology list you will see that it now shows “Modifier 16”

If you overtype “Modifier 16” with the word Style and then click change the systems will show the words Style anywhere that previously displayed “Modifier 16” See the example below.

The one area that this is not applicable is on the product entry screen for Prices 1-6. See the section Changing price titles.
